With the help of his son-in-law, Mike
Woolf, Dave uses the 300 Utility that he has modified for a specific
purpose. The platform on the tractor is just the right height for
putting the more than 200 flags on the utility poles throughout Wakeman
for patriotic holidays such as Memorial Day and July 4th. Dave is
Assistant Chief of the Wakeman Fire Department which sponsors the flag
display. This photograph was taken by a local journalist and was featured
on the back cover of Red Power magazine in July-August, 2001.
These pictures, taken in April of 1948, show Dave Graves
and his brothers growing up with the family business. In the picture
on the left, Dave is on the Cub on the left and his brother Robert is on
the Cub on the right. The color photograph shows Dave and his
brother Jack on the right, and his brothers Robert and Don on the left
tractor.
