How Much?

Postby Tominator » Thu Jul 30, 2009 4:30 pm

So, generally speaking, how much does it cost to do a total restoration of a tractor if it runs but needs a lot of tin work?

I have a 1963 Oliver 770 that I want to restore. My wife and I recently sold our house and I think with the proceeds I can finally restore my tractor.

I will take a picture of it and post it here in the next day or so.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. :D

That will depend on what condition the tractor is in and what motor it has. I will try to email you and see if I can give you a good idea on price. Thanks! Dave

Just found this web page, registered and peeked around. Found your post and your questions about how much restoration costs and your comment about not too many people here yet on this page. There are a lot of people out there doing restorations. I have dealt with pullers and die-hard fellows and gals regular and just throught I would drop you a line to go over and check out a web page called www.YTMag.com more info than you can shake a stick at. I invite you to come over to my web page www.mypioneertractor.com . I have a lot of fun there. I do have a inventory of parts that may fit your Oliver 770 needs or put you in contact with others that can help you along. Have a great Day both you and the gal. Emptypockets. :)

Hi Emptypockets,
Thanks for stopping by and welcome to Graves Implement. We did answer Tominator by email and phone to get him an idea on how much it would cost to have his tractor done. It is hard to do correctly without asking some questions and talking to the person to see exactly what they need. You are correct that there are many companies out there that do restoration. What we have to offer is years of experience that I don’t think can be beat by anyone. We have been in the tractor business since 1936. If you go to our photo sites you will see a small sample of some of the work we have done. We do have links from our site to Yesterdays Tractors. You are correct there is a lot of information there. I also stopped by your site and there seems to be a wide verity of things for sale there. Thanks for stopping by and looking around and please stop back any time.

Hi Dave,

I got your call the other day. Yes, I'm still going to do a restoration on my Oliver, but I'm not completely positive about the money situation yet. I'm sacrificing my pole barn in order to get the tractor restored. :D

How much money will you guys require up front?
